Awqaf: Preliminary Hajj Registration for Jordanians and Gaza Strip Residents to Begin Sunday

Al-Taj News – Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites Mohammad Al-Khalayleh announced that preliminary registration for Jordanians and residents of the Kingdom from the Gaza Strip wishing to perform Hajj will begin on Sunday morning, September 6, 2026.

Al-Khalayleh said registration will be conducted electronically through the Hajj Registration Platform and will continue until Sunday, September 27.

He called on those wishing to register who meet the registration requirements to pay an amount of 200 dinars for the primary registrant only. The amount will be refundable after the registration period ends, at a date to be determined by the Hajj and Umrah Department, while companions are exempt from payment.

He explained that payment is available through “eFawateercom,” or by visiting one of the branches of the Jordan Islamic Bank or one of the Safwa Islamic Bank branches.

He noted that the registration requirements for the current Hajj season include that the primary registrant, male or female, must have been born on or before 31/12/1980, and must not have previously performed Hajj.

He added that those selected will be required to provide a certificate from the Ministry of Health confirming that they are free of diseases, based on the instructions of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The diseases include failure of one of the major organs, namely the heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys; neurological and psychiatric diseases that impair cognition or are accompanied by severe motor disabilities; old age accompanied by dementia; pregnancy during the final two months or high-risk pregnancy at any stage; active cancer requiring chemotherapy, biological, or radiotherapy treatment; in addition to active infectious diseases that affect public health, such as open tuberculosis “pulmonary tuberculosis.”

Regarding savers with the Hajj Fund, Al-Khalayleh explained that savers who completed an amount of 3,000 dinars in their balance before 1/1/2021 are entitled to register through the fund’s website. For a woman wishing to register while accompanying a mahram, she must have completed an amount of 6,000 dinars before 1/1/2021 for herself and the mahram, or the mahram must be a member of the fund and meet the same requirements.

He stressed that Hajj Fund savers are not required to pay any amounts upon registration.
